Fenty Launch | Beauty Review

Off the back of my PRE-launch blog post, as promised I dragged myself to the Mall of Emirates (MOE) to check out and grab some of highly anticipated Fenty Beauty collection.

It's time for my Rihanna FENTY Beauty Review ...

This time around, although tempted by the less frantic ordeal that is Sephora on a Friday (UAE equivalent of a Saturday) I decided against Harvey Nichols UAE and opted to shop for the range in Sephora ME (beauty points were the deciding factor) The entrance display looked pretty small and for 1 sec was slightly underwhelmed but was quickly ushered to the middle of the store and was greeted by the full Fenty beauty range, in all her shimmering glory!

Like a magpie, my eyes were drawn to the shining beacon of the 'The Killawatt Highlighters' which in my opinion are jewels of this collection and are seriously EVERYTHING!

The colours are gorgeous and come with a choice of both singles or duo's - I opted for the amazing single offerings, a highly pigmented gold highlighter 'Trophy Wife' (Rihanna’s personal fav) and the paler fare which is a mega-fine white gold pearl option 'Metal Moon' The highlighter options will not disappoint and if I had to place my bets on a must have 'sell out' gems of this collection, my dirhams would be on these beauties!

As mentioned in my pre-launch post (linked below) the Fenty Beauty collection is heavily focused on your skin and the 40 liquid foundations of this collection took pride of place within the Sephora Fenty display.

I picked up both the Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer which is a creamy shine-stopping, pore-diffusing primer and the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in shade 170. From from my shop tester swatch, I was impressed by smooth creamy application of the medium to full coverage formula which caters for all skin colours and for every shade there is both a cool and a warm version, a truly impressive feat!

The Match Stix's have been marketed as a highlighter but I would say these are pretty much multi-purpose and can be used as a lipstick, blush and eyeshadow. (hence the lack of lipsticks or eyeshadows included in this initial collection launch)

As anticipated the Match Stix with its magnetic honeycomb packaging not only looks amazing but is pretty handy (I can see this limiting my bag rummaging to a minimum) the Fenty range offers 10 beautiful shades and I picked up both 'Confetti' (an iridescent opal) and 'Starstruck' (an iced-out pearl shade) - no doubt it won't be long before unicorn (an intense platinum lilac) and Yacht Lyfe (a glimmering peach pink) make a way into my collection.

I frantically grasped at the Beauty Gloss 'Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer' a universal rose nude shade gloss which is speckled with flecks of gold shimmer, as I'm sure this will again be a sellout and I can say it honestly smells as good as it looks. If a collection is only going to offer the one lip option, I have to say I am a very happy bunny with this lovely universal shade.

If I was to recommend a standout item from this collection, I would 100% choose 'Trophy Wife' highlighter - It provides pure radiance and I can see this fetching silly prices once the full collection sells out! (no doubt will be pretty soon with the hype surrounding this 2017 launch)

I am impressed with the diversity of this collection and can honestly say that the hype is not unwarranted, as I am already thinking about the next wave of releases for the Fenty Beauty range which hopefully include a 3D pigmented eyeshadow palette and full matte lipstick range.

I will wear the full collection tomorrow to confirm how it all hold out in the blazing heat of the Dubai summer, so expect a full grading overview shortly.

Please let me know what are your thoughts on this collection and what are your hopes for the next collection?

Hugs
