One of the best things about living in Dubai is the array of things to do. Staycations are no exception and a perfect way to explore the hidden gems of our beautiful city.
Little over a year ago, we first visited Tilal Liwa hotel and resorts and instantly fell in love with the seclusion and arabesque beauty.
We try to get back to this desert haven at least twice a year, and with that time almost coming back around, its now time to let you in on the secret glam 4-star resort that is Tilal Liwa.
A three-hour drive from Dubai and situated in the western region of Abu Dhabi, Tilal Liwa is a 4-star hotel nestled on the edge of the Rub Al Khali desert. A secret hideaway fully equipped with Bedouin tents, infinity desert pool and deluxe suites, makes this resort a perfect staycation retreat.
A vacation is having nothing to do and all day to do it in
Getting to the resort is equally exhilarating, taking you on a deserted road trip three hours into the heart of the Emirates, and if like me you cannot get enough of the open road, this journey will be equally as magical. My top tip is to make up a road trip survival pack which will easily see you through the long trip ahead.
My road trip essentials usually consist of a light lunch (enough for two), our travel mugs filled to the brim with coffee and an apt iTunes playlist. I recommend setting off early as possible with a few essential pit stops the tree hour suggested time can quickly turn into 4 or 5 and with an early afternoon check-in, you want to reach the resort before sunset to experience the magnificent sunset from the hotel, opposed to the car.
The hotel's accommodation ranges from your basic (but well equipped and elegant designed) rooms to the magnificent suites with pool or dune views. If money is no object, I would highly recommend the second-floor executive suite with dune views for that ultimate picturesque luxury. The hotel's arabesque design and friendly staff provide that welcoming atmosphere that never fails to excite and essential in starting your well-earned break on a perfect note.
Tilal Liwa resort has so much to offer and is adaptable to cater for your stays needs.
If you're looking for relaxation, why not spend your time lazing in around the infinity pool and trying out the resorts spa treatments. If your looking for adventure check out the desert activities ranging from quad bike hire to dune skiing.
The onsite restaurant Al Badiya Restaurant offers a full selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers both a set menu or buffet selection with international cuisine. This hotel has kept every type of customer in mind.
The outside space is fantastic, set up with authentic Bedouin tented areas for you to sit and enjoy your evening meal, drinks or shisha, and the lush garden areas are glorious for you to just sit and relax amidst the desert scape.
Now over to the pool, which is well worthy of its own paragraph. Dominating the courtyard, the swimming pool is the resorts crowning jewel. Ideally situated, at the back of the resort and overlooking the uninterrupted views of the infinite desert landscape, the pool is the perfect place to relax to watch the sunrise and sunset (I do recommend a walk around in between; otherwise your fingers and toes may start becoming webbed)
All this reminiscing means we are ready to for our next staycation, and we cannot wait to see you again soon Tilal Liwa, for a romantic getaway in the not too distant future.
Hope you enjoyed my overview and let me know about your upcoming staycations or vacations!
Hugs
