My 6 Makeup Bag Essentials

I have amassed a considerable amount of makeup since moving to Dubai (gold Sephora card in the post), and I owe this primarily to having a Sephora practically on my door-stop, saying that I still gravitate to pretty much the same must-have items which have become my staple beauty holy grails.

Let's take a look at my favourites

+ Primer
My go-to primer has been the Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer. I love the creamy texture which mattifies the t-zone and makes my skin silky smooth ready for my foundation.

+ Foundation
My foundations of choice are the Fenty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in the shade 170 and Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation - I have a nifty little trick of mixing 1x squirt Fenty and 1 x squirt Giorgio Armani which makes my ultimate breathable but a longlasting dewy foundation.

+ Highlighter
Who doesn't love a good highlighter, currently I tend to stick to liquid glows in the form of Marc Jacobs coconut dew drops, which I tend to drop into my foundation but for the real glow, I love COVER FX - This is a blinding highlighter and so easy to apply.   Gorgeous!

+ Blusher / Bronzer
On my cheeks I’ve been using the Hoola Quickie Cream-to-powder Contour Stick to give my face a little definition and colour; then I apply Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour blush in the shade 'Captivating'  (my favourite blush) I find the blusher provides a gorgeous subtle warm glow.

+ Eyeshadow

For my eyes, I tend to stick to the Zooeva Naturally Yours Eyeshadow Palette because it’s perfect for everyday use, I find it so comfortable to wear and super easy to blend! I currently love the Better Than Love Mascara (which has aptly renamed for the middle east market) the brush is perfectly thick, and I love the black intensity it gives to my lashes. My eyebrows are somewhat non-existent being naturally fair blonde, so I like the Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel and benefit Goof Proof Eye Pencil to fill in my brows which works well to define my blonde brows.

+ Lips

I love to hydrate and nourish my lips, so I love to exfoliate with the Glamglow lip scrub and then prep my lips by using the Elizabeth Arden 8-hour lip protectant.

Finding a perfect nude lipstick for a super long lasting finish has become a neverending quest for me. I really like the melted mattes by two-faced cosmetics, as I can blend over the top on a lighter or darker base and the consistency is so smooth and fast drying that it doesn't feel like you have anything on. I recommend the shades 'child star', and 'holy chic' and always gravitate toward this and tartes 'Festival Nude' for perfect every day holy grails.
